About this Competition

Andhra Pradesh Natural History Park, Museum & Research Institute (APNHPM& RI) is being developed under the aegis of Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority(VMRDA). APNHPM &RI is going to be a unique facility in the country dealing with Natural History. Because of its unique nature this facility needs its own identity in the form of a logo under the umbrella of VMRDA. The LOGO shall be self explanatory logo for Andhra Pradesh Natural History Park, Museum and Research Institute, Visakhapatnam and logo will carry image of the institute/museum across the world.

Interested Architects / reputed Architectural Firms across India are invited to participate in the design competition.

Main Components of the APNHPM &RI:

  • Natural History – about history of plants and animals from the beginning.

  • Bio-diversity Park – Different life forms in the world, India and AP including exotic plants will be on display.

  • Science Centre – Deals with various scientific laws and principles both in physical and biological fields.

  • Maritime Discovery Centre – Deals with various Maritime activities from the beginning to present day.

  • Walkthrough aquarium – A large aquarium with sea creatures where visitors can walk through this and enjoy ocean life forms.

  • Earth and its constituents – Deals with Geology of Earth its resources like rocks, minerals, gems, diamonds, fossils etc.

  • Evolution of humankind – Deals with 6 million years of human saga.

  • Fossil Park – Display of fossils.

  • Butterfly and & Insect Park – Live butterfly park along with other insects shall be on display in the park.

  • Bio-domes – Different Ecosystems shall be created in these domes.

  • Children Activity Area – Play area for children below 10 years.

  • Energy Enclave – Exhibition deals with different types of energies in the outdoor.

  • Research Institute – Under this institute 4 different labs (Geo, botany, zoology & Ecosystems) shall be established to collect, research and provide knowledge about the collections which will be on display in the exhibitions.
